BHOPAL: The Nazirabad police registered a case against 7 persons of Bedia community on the charges of rioting and clash on Wednesday. Those who have been booked include Pradeep Bedia, Bhagwan, Bhura Bedia, Ghanshyam Bedia, Dharmendra Bedia, Rahul Bedia, and Anand Bedia.
All the accused hail from Kolukheda village. No one has been arrested so far. These persons stopped a marriage procession at local Bus Stand and beaten up the people for reportedly not inviting them after an old rift. As per police sources, Ghanshyam Bedia, 50, resident of Sukhakheda of Sanchi, lodged a complaint that a group of youths beaten up the people accompanying the marriage procession at Bus Stand at Runeha.
The longstanding rift between the groups pf Bedia community is believed to be main reason behind the incident. The case has been registered under sections 147, 148, 294, 330, 427 and 506 of IPC.
