BHOPAL : The District and Sessions Court Bhopal will hold a National Lok Adalat on December 12 to settle cases of various categories at pre-litigation stage.
ADJ Giribala Singh, while interacting with the media in the presence of CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshawri and Registrar Pankaj Singh Bundela, here on Saturday said that the main objective of the Lok Adalat is to settle criminal and civil cases related to electricity, labour laws, Motor Vehicles Act and Negotiable Instruments Act. Cases pending in consumer fora, family courts, revenue court and others will also be taken up for settlement with mutual understanding, the ADJ added.
CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari said, “As many as 55 benches would be constituted to settle various cases. Over 17,000 cases filed by telecom companies, finance companies and banks will be disposed of at pre-litigation stage.”
The MP Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited has announced discount up to 50 per cent and BSNL between 10 to 50 per cent on disputed and unpaid bills if the related cases are settled in the Lok Adalat.
