Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath formed his cabinet by inducting 28 ministers on Tuesday. Governor Anandiben Patel administered oath of office to ministers at an event attended by Nath and senior Congress leaders on Tuesday. In a formula devised by Nath, there will be no state ministers for the first time in MP. After a four-day-long deliberation in Delhi over Cabinet formation.
The Nath-Digvijaya Singh faction in state Congress managed to weigh down Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia. Consequently, only seven MLAs of the Scindia faction got berth in the cabinet against 11 from Nath faction and nine from Digvijaya group. Former PCC president Arun Yadav’s brother Sachin Yadav too found a place among ministers. Relatives of other senior leaders were also given ministerial berths, including Digvijaya’s son Rajyawardhan Singh.
Jamuna Devi’s nephew Umang Singh; and, former minister Indrajeet Patel’s son Kamaleshwar Patel. First-time MLAs have been denied ministerial berth. Besides, independent MLA Pradeep Jaiswal too has not been included in the ministry. Four independents MLAs along with two from BSP and one from the Samajwadi Party have to supported the party. No ministerial berth was offered to BSP, SP and three independent MLAs.
