Jaguar has launched an entry-level variant of the F-Type with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine in India. Priced at Rs 90.93 lakh for the coupe and Rs 1.01 crore for the convertible, this 2.0-litre turbocharged option sits below the 5-litre V8 which is available with the R and SVR variants. The 3.0-litre V6 engine option which was available earlier has currently been discontinued. And while owning a sportscar with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder sounds odd, the price difference might convince you. Here are the prices of the Jaguar F-Type range:

Coupe

Convertible

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has been borrowed from other Jaguar cars like the XE and the XF. But in the F-Type it makes 300PS of max power at 5,500rpm and 400Nm of peak torque between 1,500 – 4,500rpm. Paired to an 8-speed automatic the car can do 0-100kmph in 5.7seconds and a top speed of 250kmph. The bigger 5.0-litre supercharged SVR makes 575PS of peak power and 700Nm of peak torque. Paired to an 8-speed automatic this car does 0-100 kmph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 322kmph.

Being a Jaguar, there are a lot of optional features available on the car, like a full panoramic sunroof on the coupe, LED headlights and configurable ambient lighting. As standard, you get a 10-inch touchscreen, 380-watt, 8-speaker, 2-subwoofer system. Optionally, you can opt for a 770-watt, 10-speaker, 2-subwoofer Meridian sound system. The Jaguar F-Type is known for making a notorious sound with the engine and exhaust, which we hope gets carried onto the 2.0-litre as well, fingers crossed.

If you’ve loved the F-Type for the way it looks and wanted it to be a tame kitty to drive daily, look no further. The price puts it squarely on par with other sportscars such as the Audi TT and the Porsche 718.
