Hyundai has revealed a slightly updated 2017 Creta at the ongoing 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil. As of now, it will be exclusive to the Brazilian market. A few days ago, Hyundai had announced that the Creta that will be sold in the Brazilian market will be different than the version available presently in the markets worldwide. In India, we believe Hyundai will introduce this updated model in 2017 since the Creta nameplate will have completed more than two years in the country by then.

The Brazilian Creta is slightly different from the Indian version. Most noticeably, it has Hyundai’s newly introduced signature grille – cascading grille – which now occupies most of the real estate at the front. The grille is closely flanked by the same set of headlamps (much like Audi SUVs) that adorn the older version. However, the headlamps now come with LED daytime running lights instead of the light guides offered in the present version. The redesigned front bumper features horizontally placed fog lamps as opposed to the vertical ones in the current version.

The side profile remains identical to the older version, save for the new set of 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, Hyundai has made subtle changes to the tail lamps. The rear bumper has been restyled with the reflectors mimicking the placement of the front fog lamps.

On the inside, the Creta has remained largely unchanged. The highlight is the addition of Hyundai’s latest infotainment system, which is an updated version of the current seven-inch unit. Apart from the new user interface, the unit now offers support for both Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. The same system will be offered with the upcoming next-gen Verna and probably in the i20 as well.

Mechanically, when it will be launched in India, the Creta is likely to remain unchanged and will carry forward the current set of powertrains.
