Residents of New York can now march into a Google retail store to purchase an extensive selection of hardware and software products. The company's first-ever brick-and-mortar store showcases an impressive array of wares - from Pixel phones, Stadia, WearOS to Nest and Fitbit devices, Fitbit devices to Pixelbooks - all in a 5,000 square feet store.
"We wanted our first store to reflect the same approach we take to designing our products: making sure they’re always helpful to people. The result is a space we believe is warm and inviting, while providing new ways to celebrate and experience Google through our phones, displays, speakers, wearables and more," explains a blog post on the company's website.
Photos shared online show products lining the store windows, and set out on low tables across the massive space. A 17-foot-tall circular glass structure near the entrance also helps users find out more about the products. Dubbed the Google Imagination Space, it has custom interactive screens that feature rotating exhibits and provides real-time translation of your speech into 24 languages.
There is also a team at hand to field queries from potential customers. "For those who want to get up close and personal, every part of the store invites hands-on interaction with our products and services," the blog post explains.
