Ujjain : To protect and development water bodies in the city, a cleaning drive will be launched at ancient Purshottam Sagar from May 18. The cleaning will start at 8 am on every day. Municipal Speaker Sonu Gehlot informed that Sapt Sagar Vikas Mandal has taken a pledge to preserve all ancient water bodies in the city. The Mandal has been cleaning Vishnu Sagar since last two years.
Now the Mandal has decided to clean Purshottam Sagar located near Indira Nagar. At present the water body is polluted and the surroundings are filled with garbage. At present very little water is there in the pond. During the drive the pond will be deepened. Pushpendra Sharma said that sewerage water is being flown into this water body. Gehlot has appealed to all the citizens, voluntary organisations and other institutions to join the drive.
