It has been raining heavily since last 2-3 days in Mumbai. Road traffic and local trains have been affected badly. While rains have been lashing the city, Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, Mumbai mayor said that there has been zero water logging in the city due to rains. Everything is working smoothly.

Where the city’s lifeline, which is the local train has been affected so badly, along with roads been blocked due to water logging in various parts of the city, such a statement from the mayor is quiet disturbing.

Talking to a TV reporter he said, “I have been walking through Mumbai since time immemorial, but I have not seen water tumbled anywhere. In some places the water was seen collected in specific places but it was removed by the BMC officials.” He said that municipal corporation officers, employees, corporators are keeping a watch on the situation.

The highest recorded 231 mm rainfall was recorded in Mumbai in the last 24 hours. All the claims of the municipal corporation were proved wrong due to such heavy rain fall in June, but the Mayor is not ready to agree. In Mumbai, the trains on three routes were running late for 15 to 20 minutes.

As usual, water is spreading in Hindmata, Sion, Chembur, Kurla, Khar, Milan Subway.
