WCG Rink Hockey tourney off to a rousing start

Mumbai: The Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana Rink Hockey Tournament got off to a great start at the WCG courts. In the inaugural match of the school boys’ category, St. Stanislaus scored eight goals to beat Don Bosco Borivali 8-2. Eli Rodrigues played an important role netting three goals and was ably supported by Kevin Barnes and Ryan D’souza who scored two goals each. The other goal scorer for St. Stanislaus was Nash Mathew. Don Bosco boys could only score two goals which were scored by Collin Nunes and Shekhar Kaushik.

OLO Dolours thrashed Dominic Savio 8-0. Mahindra Rawal of Dolours played a major role scoring four goals and was given good support by Bhim Batala, Aniket Chaurasiya, Arjun Gupta and Tikaram Thakulla who scored one goal each. In the men’s category, Abhi Foundation overcame Companeroes, defeating them 5-4. Abhi Foundation emerged victorious in the tie breakers scoring 2 goals whereas Companeroes could score only one goal.

The teams are divided in 4 categories of Men, Women, School boys and School girls, with teams like Indian Oil, Air India, ONGC, Western Railway, Central Railway, RCF, Union Bank, Mumbai Customs and SAI.
