Mumbai: Vivekanand Education Trust proved too good for Friends XI as they stormed to a facile 2-0 win in a Third Division qualifying league match of the MDFA League on Tuesday afternoon. Showing good touch, Vivekanand scored the opening goal in the 18th minute through Parag Jain and doubled the lead when Sarvesh Tulapurkar found the back of the net in the 26th minute.

In the second match of the day, Samuel FA recorded an identical 2-0 margin of victory against Vijay Mazagaon to walk away with the full three points. Both the goals were scored in the first half. Samuel FA striker Shivam Gohil provided his team with the perfect start by hitting the target in the very first minute of the match. Eighteen minutes later, Samuel FA took complete control when Klifer Fernandes netted the second goal.
