Mumbai: Vedant Bapna, of Glenmark Aquatic Foundation and Kareena Shankta from Forest Club emerged as the best under-17 swimmers in the GAF-GMAAA Junior and Sub-junior Aquatic meet cum selection meet, sponsored by Glenmark Aquatic Foundation at Tata Swimming Pool, Chembur, here on Monday. Vedant, who garnered 29 points bagged three golds, one silver and one bronze, while Kareena ended with 33 points had four golds a silver. And her gold haul included two new meet records too. In fact, she pipped Khar Gymkhana’s Seeya Bijlani, who too logged 33 points but with just one new record.
Apeksha Fernandes from IIT, Bombay, with five golds (35 points), including two record-breaking golds,was the highest overall in point standing with 35 points. Other to figure among toppers were Tannishtha Nair (GAF) in group III with 28 points And Anannya nNayak (Ozone), had 27 points to her credit in group IV category. Among boys, Adita Shah (Forest Club) and ManavGupta (Otters) shared the top honours in group II. Both aggregated identical 29 points with three golds, one silver and one bronze medals.
