Mumbai : St. Stanislaus, Bandra ‘A’ registered a thumping 6-1 win over Sacred Heart to easily advance to the second round in the school boys group at the 27th WCG inter Parish floodlit rink football tourney organised and conducted by the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana. Nigel Monteiro and Shaun Dias with their swift play starred in the victory netting three goals each, while Jatin Kawadia scored the only goal for the losing side in a totally one sided clash. In the other match, St. Anthony, Malwani with a goal from Valentino Pinto overcame the stiff challenge of St. Augustine, Vashi ‘B’ 1-0.
In the second round matches of the men’s group, Our Lady of Poinsur with two goals each from Craig D’souza and Noel Dias thrashed AIIC, Madh Island ‘B’ 4-1 while, St. Anthony, Vakola ‘A’ beat Our Lady of Rosary, Mazgaon 6-5 in a closely fought encounter.
