Mumbai: Top seed Neelam Chopra of Indore and second seed Geeta Vyas of Surat smoothly progressed to the Ladies 35+ singles semi-final round of the Wodehouse Gymkhana Ladies Open Rs 75,000 Prize-Money Tennis Tournament.

Neelam enjoyed complete control and eased past Priya Jain of Mumbai 7-2, while Geeta was dominant throughout and charged past Adelaide Gomes of Ahmedabad 7-1 in the best-of-13-games quarter-final matches, played at the Wodehouse Gymkhana tennis courts on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Nagpur’s Rajshree Jaiswal fought hard and got the better of Dr. Jyotsana Patel of Mumbai 7-4, in a well-contested last eight match. In another quarter-final encounter, Aarti Soni of Ahmedabad proved too strong for Indore challenger Kashish and romped to a 7-1 victory to also advance to the semi-final.
