Raipur: The Women’s National Boxing Championship will begin from tomorrow here with over 200 pugilists participating in the six-day event.
Over 210 women boxers from 32 boxing India affiliated members will compete in the elite Championship, Boxing India president Sandeep Jajodia said here today.
Chhattisgarh Boxing Federation is organising the tournament in association with Monnet Steel at the Indoor Stadium near Budha talab.
The diverse city of Raipur will witness the Championship which promises to be a power packed affair given the latest outstanding performance of women boxers at the recently concluded Asian Games, he added.
The championship will witness fights in over 10 weight categories.
The bouts will be held over four rounds of two minutes with a one minute rest between rounds, he added.
