Mumbai : Matunga Boys rallied splendidly from game down to outwit BEST (Bombay Electric Supply Transport) 23-25, 25-23, 15-13 to storm into the quarterfinals of the Bombay YMCA 60th Callan Cup volleyball tournament, on Thursday.
In other encounters, Parle Boys, who made quite an impression last year and had made the semi-finals, were ousted by MBPT in straight games 25-14, 25-19, while Nahur Boys, after dropping the first game, overpowered Chembur YMCA 21-25, 25-21, 15-9.Apart from the defending champions YMCA “A”, other prominent in the fray are last year’s runners-up Hoopers, Centrury Rayon, Nahur Boys, GRPolice in the 14-team event.
