Mumbai : Khar Gymkhana’s Harmehr Mago showed great character and a strong spirit to fight as he came from 0-2 behind to prevail over home favourite V. Subramanian 3-2 in five frames in the Matunga Gymkhana 9-Red Open Handicap Snooker Tournament.
The Matunga Gymkhana player Subramanian (+21 handicap), got off to a perfect start against Harmehr (+32 handicap) and went on to pocket the opening two frames. But, Harmehr rose to the challenge and managed to win next three frames to clinch 61(28)-72(28), 44-70, 61-31, 68-58 and 83-47 victor.
Meanwhile, Abhinay Edke and Rohan Sakalkar, both playing with identical handicaps of +18 points each, also encountered tough battles, but managed to advance to the third round.
Qualifier, Rahul Parikh (+35 handicap) continued with his fine winning run of form and defeated Pankaj Khatri (+18 handicap) by three frames to win second round match.
