Qatar : Haadin Bava of India won his maiden ITF Futures title when he bagged the doubles crown on debut with an exciting super tie-breaker win in the final of the US$10,000 6th Qatar ITF F6 Futures hardcourt tennis tournament at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, in Doha, Qatar. Mumbai lad Bava, now based in Tanalur, Kerala, teamed up with Aoxiong Wang of China to snatch an exciting 6-2, 3-6, 10-3 win over the formidable pair of Luke Bambridge of Great Britain (ranked 256 in world doubles) and Mats Moraing of Germany (715) who had stunned top seeds Scot Clayton and Jonny O’Mara of Great Britain in the quarter-finals.
Bava, 21, ranked 980 in the world in singles and a recent individual runner-up at the Raipur ITF Futures, kicked off his campaign with Wang with a 6-1, 6-3 first round win over Ameur Ben Hassen of Tunisia and Mousa Shanan Zayed of Qatar.
