Team India's 'Fielder of the Match' tradition continued in full swing after their thrilling victory over Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final on March 4 in Dubai. The Indian dressing room was filled with laughter and cheers as fielding coach T Dilip called in a special guest former head coach Ravi Shastri to present the coveted medal.
In a video shared by the BCCI, Dilip announced four contenders for the medal Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Virat Kohli for their exceptional fielding efforts.
However, the highlight of the ceremony came when Shastri entered the dressing room to hand over the award. The Indian players erupted in laughter when Shastri called out for "Dilip!" without realising the fielding coach was standing right beside him, holding the medal.

Shreyas Iyer was awarded the medal for his outstanding fielding display. The middle-order batter played a crucial role in the semi-final, not only with the bat but also with his sharp fielding. His stunning direct-hit run-out of Alex Carey in the 48th over shifted the momentum in India's favour, restricting Australia to 264.
Ravi Shastri praises Team India's performance in Champions Trophy semi-final
Speaking to Team India players on entering the dressing room, Shastri said, "It's a pressure game. You are by far the best team in the tournament so far. Individual brilliance will only take you to a certain level but it is the collective team effort that will take you across the finishing line when champions play. Today two champions were playing, a pressure game, character show, team effort. Flashes of brilliance in the field always make a difference. Normally, it's the turning point,"
