Mumbai : Defending champions Western Railway and Central Railway, both huffed and puffed before chugging to victories in their respective Super Division matches of the PMC Bank-MHAL League– 2014.
In the first match, Central scored in the final minute through Yuvraj Walmiki to snatch a 1-0 win against MSP and later in the evening Western held the upper hand but found the going tough against RCF before they managed to record a 3-1 win. Amit Rohidass, Jaykaran and Amit Gowda were on target for the railway side while Pillay scored the lone goal for RCF.
Central made the mistake of heavily depending on Yuvraj. The forward tried hard and was reward with the crucial goal in the 69th minute.
Western had to work extra hard by their opponents RCF. Western opened the scoring when Rohidass scored from their second penalty corner in the 21st minute before RCF neutralized the lead in the 45th minute.
The Western outfit scored in the 59th minute Gowda scored a late consolation goal in the final minute of the match.
