Mumbai : Bodyline SC clinched the women’s crown in the 13th Bandra West Football Association (BWFA) League 2015. Putting up a good combined performance Bodyline blanked M. United 2-0 in the final played at the Dr. Norman Lewis, Supari Talao Muncipal Grounds, Bandra (West). Strikers Rita Ukachchukwa and Juhi Shah were on target, scoring in each half to ensure Bodyline clinched the title. The summit clash witnessed quite a keen tussle for supremacy as both the teams went on the offensive from the outset and there was plenty of action in front of goal at either end. From one such moment, Bodyline took the lead when from a corner kick Rita tapped home from close to trigger celebrations amongst her teammates.

Having gained the advantage, Bodyline doubled the lead when Juhi with a brilliant effort scored from a direct free-kick giving the rival goalkeeper no chance to make a save. Ukachchukwa was later adjudged as the ‘Outstanding player of the tournament’. The champions Bodyline were rewarded with a glittering trophy and a cash award of Rs 20,000 and the runners-up M. United received Rs 10,000. Meanwhile, Bandra Packers bagged the top honours in the Veteran’s category. Packers recorded an identical 2-0 win against Carmelites SC in the final. Ashwin D’Souza and Maxie D’Souza scored a goal apiece to secure the title for Packers, who became richer by Rs 10,000.
