It has come to light that 10 out of 35 swimming pools of the Pune Municipal Corporation are closed due to various reasons. This matter has been clarified in a survey conducted by the Municipal Corporation's Sports Department, which has instructed immediate repairs to reopen the pools, especially during the summer season.

As per the report by Loksatta, the Municipal Corporation has set up 35 swimming pools across the city for the convenience of citizens. Since the fees for using these pools are low, they attract a large crowd during the summer. Currently, 25 pools are open, while 10 remain closed.

If these pools stay closed during the summer, it could cause inconvenience to citizens and affect the Municipal Corporation’s revenue. Hence, the Sports Department has directed the reopening of these pools after completing the necessary technical repairs.

Deputy Commissioner of the Sports Department, Kishori Shinde, clarified that ten swimming pools in the city are closed. Some pools have not completed the tender process, while others are closed due to legal disputes with contractors over unfulfilled agreements.
