In a significant breakthrough, the Pune Rural Police have apprehended a prolific thief responsible for a spate of daytime house burglaries that had instilled fear among residents of Kirkatwadi, Nanded City, and Donje areas. The suspect, identified as Atul, also known as Attha Chandrakant Amle, aged 28 and hailing from Aakashnagar in Warje, has been taken into custody.
According to police sources, "The accused has admitted to his involvement in nine burglaries within the jurisdiction of Haveli, Rajgad, and Hinjewadi police stations. This arrest comes even as he was already facing charges in 23 cases across various police stations and had recently been released on bail."

The Pune rural police have managed to recover approximately 150 grams of stolen jewelry and a two-wheeler with an estimated value of ₹6,64,500 from his possession.
Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Ankit Goyal directed Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar of the Local Crime Branch to spearhead the efforts in capturing the burglar. A dedicated team was formed, and a combination of technical analysis and confidential informant information led to the suspect's arrest in the Khadakwasla area. The Haveli police station is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the case.
