The erection work of the Mono Pole along the 132 KV high-tension line from Kothrud to Phursungi is completed by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) under the supervision of MSETCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited).

The residents are happy seeing the completion of the project, as this project was a long-pending plan to upgrade the region’s power infrastructure.

Ashok Mehendale, a resident of NIBM, expressed his happiness over the completion of the project: "I constantly followed up with the authorities for the past four years to get the work completed. I was supposed to go to Mumbai to get the approval and everything started, but I went to the regional office of MSETCL, and a budget approval of Rs 1.82 crores was sanctioned. Then an estimate amount was approved to PMC, and they started the work in no time. The work was going on for the past 13 months and today the work is completed. This is such a big relief because in Mohamadwadi, when you go from Dorabji Paradise to Lavanya Restaurant, the flyover that was constructed there by PMC, spending crores of money, had to be closed because the wires were hanging really low, and a few accidents were also reported due to the hanging wires. So now, because the Mono Pole erection work is completed, there are no wires hanging, and the bridge could be used now. Also, in rains, it used to create a lot of traffic; that will also get resolved. The erection of mono poles has created a lot of spaces which is expected to enhance electrical efficiency and reduce risks associated with aging infrastructure."

Another resident said, "After a long wait, the work has finally been completed. The next phase of the project, involving cable shifting and the replacement of old cables with new ones, is currently in progress. It will not just avert the danger it was posing to the commuters but will also look neat. Despite heavy pre-monsoon rains, the project continues to move forward steadily. Just the work was halted for a few hours as laborers were forced to rest for a few hours."

Manisha Shekatkar, the head of the electrical department at the PMC, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the work: "The line starts from Kothrud to Phursungi, and in the Mohamadwadi area, which lies in between, there was this electric tower near a nullah, from which the wires were seen hanging over the flyover culvert over that nullah, posing a risk to the citizens. Now that flyover has been opened for public use."
