Following the incident involving the alleged period-check of students, a private school in Shahapur resumed operations on Tuesday. The school is currently functioning with the remaining staff members under the supervision of the Education (Field) Officer from Shahapur.

Balasaheb Rakshe, Education Officer from the Zilla Parishad (ZP), Thane, told The Free Press Journal that students attended classes on Tuesday. He added that the school is being operated by the remaining staff under the oversight of a Field Officer from the Panchayat Samiti, Shahapur.

Notably, Shahapur police have arrested five individuals — including the principal, three teachers, and a female attendant — after reports emerged that 12 female students were allegedly forced to strip to check if they were menstruating. The school had been shut since July 9, officials said.

The incident occurred on July 8, when a female attendant allegedly conducted the checks on instructions from the principal after blood stains were found in the school’s toilet.
