Thane: 2 labourers dead, one seriously injured at construction site in B Cabin area

The injured labourer is being treated at the moment.

Thane: The two labourers from Mumbra lost their lives and one was seriously injured at B Cabin construction site at Naupada in Thane on Thursday, February 23 at around 8:15 pm.

All the three labourers got trapped under a large soil pile which fell down at the construction site.

On labourer critical

Avinash Sawant, regional disaster management cell (RDMC), Thane said, "We received the information at the disaster management cell room at around 8:15 pm about three labourers getting trapped under a pile of soil at B Cabin construction an under-construction site at Naupada in Thane. Soon after receiving the information the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) deputy commissioner of disaster management G.G.Godepure, Shankar Patole, Naupada ward committee assistant commissioner Ajay Kumar Edke, TMC chief fire officer Girish Zalke, disaster management cell personnel, fire brigade personnel and Naupada police personnel reached the spot."

Sawant further added, "All three labourers were pulled out with the help of disaster management cell personnel and fire brigade personnel. They were handed over to the Naupada police personnel who admitted them to the civil hospital in Thane. The doctors declared two labourers dead before admission and the third labour is seriously injured and he was shifted to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj hospital in Kalwa from Thane civil hospital."

The deceased labourers has been identified as Habib Babu Shaikh (42) a resident at Shankar Mandir in Mumbra and Ranjit Kumar Saini (35) a resident of Shivaji Nagar in Mumbra. The seriously injured labour who is under treatment has been identified as Nirmal Ramlal Raab (49) a resident of Shivaji Nagar in Mumbra.
