Two more patients of BA.4 and four of BA.4 sub-variant of Omicron were detected in Pune, as per the latest report from the B.J. Medical, Pune on Tuesday. Besdies, three cases of BA.2.75 were also found in the city.
According to the health bulletin, samples from Pune, Ahmednagar, Sindhudurg and Solapur districts were tested from the period of May 31 and July 5. The patients with the said variants were from this lot and all of them have been recovered in home isolation, it added.
With this has, the tally of BA.4 and BA.5 patients has gone up to 79, and that of BA.2.75 patients to 32.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra today recorded 2,435 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the number of active cases to 17,567. Besides, 13 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the day, taking the tally to 1,47,991.
