Mumbai: Zero COVID-19 death in city for second day in a row; 235 cases reported

Doubling days now increased to 1,446 days, while the weekly growth rate has come down to 0.047%

Mumbai: Mumbai reported zero Covid-19 death for the second day in a row on Monday, following which the death toll remained at 19,624 fatalities. Meanwhile, the city also witnessed a drop in daily Covid cases to 235 on Monday from 399 which was reported on July 10, increasing the total count to 11,19,030 now.

Moreover, the doubling days now increased to 1,446 days, while the weekly growth rate has come down to 0.047 per cent.

On the other hand, two people succumbed to the deadly SARS-CoV-2 virus in the last 24 hours across Maharashtra, taking the death toll to 1,47,978 fatalities.

However, the daily numbers dropped to 1,189 on Monday, pushing its tally to 80,05,213 cases.

Dr Rahul Pandit, a member of the Covid-19 taskforce said there is a sharp drop in the Covid cases across the city and soon it will be seen in other parts of the districts.

During the third wave there was a sharp rise and then drop in cases and it is continuing.

“All aspects are positive now as cases and deaths have drastically come down. Moreover, there are only mild patients who are recovering within 48 hours. Moreover, vaccination has played a major role so it’s an urge to the citizens to get vaccinated,” he said.
