Navi Mumbai: Vehicular traffic on the Poladpur – Mahabaleshwar route via Ambenali Ghat has been completely suspended from July 10 to July 14, to facilitate the removal of fallen rocks, boulders, and mud along the stretch. A formal notification in this regard has been issued by Raigad District Collector Kishan Jawale.
The decision to close the road was taken based on requests made by the Superintendent of Police, Raigad and the Tehsildar of Poladpur, who highlighted the need for public safety and uninterrupted execution of the clearance work. The district administration confirmed that approximately four days are required to complete the operation.
In light of the closure, the administration has recommended alternative routes for motorists. Commuters heading toward Satara, Pune, and Kolhapur are advised to use the Poladpur–Mangaon–Tamhini–Pune–Satara route or the Poladpur–Chiplun–Patan–Satara–Kolhapur route.
"Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the authorities and plan their travel accordingly during this period to avoid inconvenience," statement issued by Raigad administration said.
