Nashik: After Nashik Police filed an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, he came out in his defence. Raut was reportedly booked for his statement dubbing the incumbent government as "illegal" and appealing to the cops and government officials to not follow "illegal" their orders.
Talking to media, Raut said, "I have only said that after the order of the Supreme Court, I think this govt is illegal and if the govt officials will follow the order of this govt then it will be illegal & action might be taken against them in the coming days."
Raut's comments
Shiv Sena (UBT) Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member, Raut on May 12, after Supreme Court's verdict on Shiv Sena split case called the government "illegal".

In a press conference, Raut had appealed to government officials and policemen to not follow "illegal orders of this illegal government." He had also said the incumbent Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government will collapse in the next three months.
Nashik Police takes suo moto action
Nashik Police suo moto took cognisance of the remarks and an FIR was registered at Mumbai Naka police station under section 505(1) (B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922, and other relevant sections, an official said.
Section 505 (1) (b) deals with the "intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or against the public tranquility".
