In a shocking incident, a 41-year-old woman slipped under the train while trying to board a moving Indrayani Express at Dadar station, and was saved in nick of time thanks to quick-thinking of a Railway Protection Force (RPF) official.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the woman was identified as Vaishali Vaidh (41). The incident took place on Monday at around 5.50 am, when the woman was trying to board the Mumbai-Pune Indrayani Express. While she was trying to board the moving train she fell in the gap. But the woman was saved by quick action taken by RPF Sub inspector Vineet Singh.

After Vaidh fell in the gap, it became difficult to reach her as there was a railing on the other side of the train. The RPF official, however, jumped over the railing to crawl under the coach to get to Vaidh, who could be heard wailing. Two more RPF officials followed him and rescued the woman. After being rescued, the woman was rushed to the hospital. The woman has suffered fractures but is out of danger. Satish Menon, RPF in charge of Dadar told the leading daily, “When the Indrayani Express was entering Platform 4 at Dadar station, there was jostling to board the general coach of the train even before the train had come to a complete halt. During the jostling of passengers, Vaishali Vaidh, a resident of Dadar West, lost her grip and fell in the gap.”
