A day after the shooting incident at Kapil Sharma's newly-opened restaurant in Canada, the Mumbai police on Friday visited the building where the comedian resides. His house is on the ninth floor of DLH Enclave, Lokhandwala, Oshiwara, Best Colony Road, Andheri West. Dozens of people associated with the Bollywood and television industry reside in this building.

The police have deployed personnel outside the building for additional security and those entering and leaving the premises are being checked. A team from the Oshiwara police station also spoke to the private security staff of the comedian's society, checked the building premises and the surrounding area. However, they did not clarify whether Sharma had received any threats in Mumbai or if there was any immediate danger. Also, neither Sharma's statement was recorded nor his security has been beefed up.

According to sources, following the firing incident at Sharma's Kap's Cafe in Canada, the police and other agencies in India are on alert. An unidentified attacker shot 12 bullets into the restaurant's glass wall in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, on Wednesday night. Later, Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi, who is linked to the banned organisation Babbar Khalsa International, claimed responsibility for the shooting.
