Mumbai: Police constable booked for molesting 14-year-old girl

On Monday, the Kurar police have booked a 52-year-old police constable for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl.

According to Mid-Day, the 52-year-old police constable is attached to the Kurar police. The incident took place near Adani office bus stop when the girl was returning home from school. The girl who is a student of Std IX of a Malad East school. The girl usually travels to school with her elder sister, but due to an exam on the day of the incident she left home early and returned home alone. The girl has alleged that the constable called her and forcibly hugged her, after which she ran home and narrated the incident to her mother.

While narrating the incident the girl told her mother that the constable used to gesture to her on several occasions. After which the girl’s mother then called the police control room and informed them about the incident. After calling the police control room, the girl’s mother went to Kurar police station and registered a complaint. After which the Kurar police have booked the constable under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act.
