Ops no.1: In view of heightened illicit drug trafficking alert especially through darkweb, the technical intelligence gathering obtained input about a parcel concealing illicit drugs destined to Mumbai, Maharashtra.
After, appropriate technical analysis, the suspected parcel was tracked and seized at a post office in Mumbai which resulted in recovery of 1.23 gms Mescaline. Subsequently, Controlled Delivery was initiated and on 09.12.2024, the receiver was intercepted.
During house search, Hydroponic Ganja plants weighing 489 gms were recovered which were being grown in a controlled environment in the bedroom. Consequently the receiver was arrested.
During interrogation, the person affirmed that the seized parcel was booked for procurement of the illicit drugs through darkweb. Further, indepth investigation is underway.
Ops no. 2: In view of upcoming new year festive season, vigilant intelligence led to input that a consignment of illicit drugs was to be smuggled into Mumbai sourced from Thailand.
Accordingly, intelligence sources were activated which resulted in identification of a baggage which was in transit from Bangkok to Mumbai in Thai Airways flight no. TG 317. On 17.12.2024, the suspected baggage was traced at Mumbai Airport and when opened, 13 kgs hybrid strain Ganja was recovered.
Immediate follow up action was initiated which led to identification of a Kolhapur, Maharashtra based person. A team of NCB immediately proceeded Kolhapur and intercepted the person on 19.12.2024. Corroborative evidences have been gathered and further investigation is underway.
