Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday called on Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaj, head of the erstwhile royal family of Kolhapur in Maharashtra, whose son Sambhaji Chhatrapati recently withdrew from the Rajya Sabha poll race.
The meeting comes a day after the 74-year-old royal family scion told reporters that before pulling out of the June 10 Rajya Sabha election and announcing a new political outfit, his son had met former state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

In the Dharma Sansad, all the sadhus across the country will put forth their views regarding the birthplace of Lord Hanuman and after that whatever decision will be taken in Sansad will be accepted by all, said Swami Aniket.
COVID-19: Maha's case count rises by 550; one dies
Maharashtra on Sunday reported 550 new coronavirus positive cases, 21 more than the previous day, which raised the overall tally to 78,85,944, while one death took the toll to 1,47,859, the state health department said.
On Saturday, the state had recorded 529 cases, but no virus-related death.
