Mumbai reports 1,048 new COVID-19 cases, 25 deaths
With the addition of 1,048 new COVID-19 cases on May 29, Mumbai's infection tally rose to 7,04,509. Now, there are 27,617 active cases in the city.
Mumbai reported 25 deaths due to coronavirus on Saturday which pushed its fatality count to 14,833 as per data released by the city's civic body. 1,359 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged on Friday taking the recovery count to 6,59,899.

Maharashtra reports 20,295 new cases, 443 more deaths
For the second consecutive day, nearly 20,000 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra. On Saturday, 20,295 new infections and 443 Covid-19 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours across the state, pushing its tally to 57,13,215, with 94,030 fatalities till now.
Oil leak spotted around cyclone-affected barge off Palghar coast in Maharashtra
Oil leak was spotted on Saturday around the barge `Gal Constructor' which had run aground during cyclone Tauktae off the Palghar coast in Maharashtra, officials said.
The Indian Coast Guard said a "silvery oil sheen" of 50 metres in width was spotted and all precautions are being taken. The spill had not reached the shore, it added.

Mumbai: Man wanted for extortion, wife caught after dramatic chase
A man accused of extortion and his wife were dramatically arrested in separate incidents while both were trying to escape from the police clutches in Mumbai, an official said on Sunday.
While the accused, Santoshkumar Rampratap Singh alias Bablu Thakur, was nabbed from a car after a chase on Thursday, his wife Rita Singh was caught after she jumped before a moving train at the Dadar railway station on Friday, he said.
