Mumbai reports 700 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths on June 13
Mumbai reported 700 new COVID-19 cases on June 13, Sunday, taking the total tally to 7,16,579. Now, there are 15,773 active cases in the city.
City recorded 19 deaths due to coronavirus on Sunday which pushed its fatality count to 15,183 as per data released by the city's civic body. 704 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged on Sundaytaking the recovery count to 6,83,382.

Maharashtra records 10,442 fresh COVID-19 cases; recoveries dip to 7,504
Maharashtra on Sunday recorded 10,442 fresh cases, taking the number of active cases to 1,55,588. Besides, 483 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the day, taking the number of total fatalities to 1,08,816. The state recorded less number of recoveries as compared to 14,910 on Saturday.
7,504 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 56,39,271. The recovery rate in the state retained at 95.44%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.88%.

18-year-old drowns at beach in Madh
An 18-year-old youth, who had gone to a beach near Madh in Malad (W) drowned on Sunday evening. The teen, identified as Qayyum Shaikh, a resident of Malvani area, was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead before arrival due to drowning, said police. A case of accidental death has been recorded at Malvani police station.
According to police, Shaikh and a few of his friends from Malvani area, had gone for a bike ride towards the beach to have a good time. After the group of friends reached near a beach at Madh at around 4.15pm and ventured into the water. While Shaikh did not know how to swim, he went deep into the water anyway, following which he lost control due to the high tide, and drowned.
