Maharashtra Government to vaccinate all its citizens free of cost

Amidst the ongoing discussions on free of cost vaccination in the country, Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik on Sunday announced that the state government will vaccinate all its citizens free of cost.

Police on Sunday arrested the chief executive officer and the chief administrative officer of a Palghar-based hospital where a fire killed 15 COVID-19 patients two days back, an official said.

After their arrest, the hospital's CEO, Dr Dilip Bastimal Shah (56), and CAO Dr Shailesh Dharmadev Pathak (47) were produced before a Vasai court which remanded them in police custody for one day, he said.

COVID-19 claims three lives in Mumbai Police force in 2 weeks

With the death of a constable in Mumbai due to COVID-19, the virus has claimed the lives of three police personnel within two weeks, an official said on Sunday.

The 46-year-old constable attached to Chunabhatti police station succumbed to the infection on Saturday, he said.

COVID-19 vaccination at a few centres in Mumbai, including the BKC Jumbo COVID-19 centre, was halted due to a shortage of vaccines. However, the issue has been resolved and all the vaccination centres in the city will be functional tomorrow (Monday), said Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal on Sunday.
