Mumbai: The continuous cold wave in the state has impacted the supply of the green vegetables and their prices also. The stock of vegetables sent to the Agriculture Produce Market Committee at Vashi has not only seen a considerable fall due to low supply, the greens’ prices have also risen sharply.

The resultant rise in prices of most of the vegetables is 20-25%. Over 700 trucks would come to city from the neighbouring Gujarat and Karnataka. The number has fallen by 150. Supplies in local markets now depend on 500-550 trucks, leading to a shortage of the greens and rise in prices.
