In a shocking incident, on Thursday the Nehru Nagar police arrested a 35-year-old railway porter for allegedly raping a 4-year-old girl near Kurla railway station.
According to the Hindustan Times, the police found out about the incident when the girl’s parents approached them on Thursday. The incident took place on Tuesday around 7 pm, when the railway porter took the girl to a secluded location. After the girl didn’t return home for a long time, she went looking out for her. During which the girl’s mother found her sitting in the lap of the accused and when she came closer, she found that the girl was being raped.
The accused and girl live in the same neighbourhood. The cops arrested the accused two days later and booked him under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
