The Mira Bhayandar unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has organised a free guidance seminar on Maharashtra Ownership Flats (Regulation of the promotion of construction, sale, management and transfer) Act (MOFA) and Deemed Conveyance in Mira Road on Sunday.

The seminar will be held at the Swaminarayan Hall in the Shanti Nagar area of Mira Road between 9 am to 1 pm. MOFA and RERA expert CA Ramesh Prabhu who is also the chairman of the Maharashtra Societies Welfare Association will guide the participants. Notably, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers led by Narendra Bhambwani and Sukhdev Benbansi have been helping complainants in filing FIR under its “Aapka Ghar, Aaapki Zameen '' campaign aimed to protect the ownership rights of local citizens and housing societies in the twin-city.

The AAP has played a significant role in assisting people in filing criminal cases against construction companies in the twin city for failing to convey (transfer) land in the name of the housing society within the stipulated time frame. Hundreds of housing and commercial societies in the twin city are still registered under the names of the developers or landlords, which is bound to deprive the actual flat owners of benefits of future redevelopment schemes.
