Mumbai: As part of the weekly maintenance of railway tracks, the Central Railway (CR) will conduct a mega block on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Meanwhile, commuters on the Western Railways can heave a sigh of relief as no day block will be observed on Sunday. Instead, a night block will be carried out between various stations during the midnight of March 29-30 and March 30-31.
The mega block on the Central line will be carried out between Thane and Kalyan stations from 10.30 am to 4 pm on the down slow line. Slow and semi-fast trains leaving Mulund towards Kalyan will be diverted to the down fast track and will halt at Thane, Diva and Dombivli stations.
Similarly, fast and semi-fast train services, leaving and arriving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations, in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive at their destination 20 minutes late. The foot over bridge (FOB) at the Kasara-end of Kalyan station will be dismantled during the block period, said a CR official.
On Harbour line, services will be cancelled between CSMT and Vashi, Belapur, Panvel from 11.40 am to 4.10 pm, while those running from CSMT to Bandra will remain suspended between 11.10 am to 3.40 pm. However, special trains will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No. 8) during the block period. Harbour line passengers will be allowed to travel on the trans Harbour and Main lines on Sunday.
