Mumbai: There will be a mega block on all the three lines of suburban railways on Sunday to carry out maintenance work. Western Railway will conduct a five hour jumbo block on both lines between Santacruz and Goregaon from 10.35 am to 3.35 pm, while the Central line between Mulund and Matunga will have a mega block on the up fast track. Harbour line will also have a mega block on both fast and slow lines between Kurla and Vashi.
A Jumbo block of five hours will be taken from 10.35 am to 3.35 pm on both up and down slow lines between Santacruz and Goregaon stations for the maintenance of track, signalling and overhead equipment. During the block period, all trains will run on fast tracks between these two, leading to cancellation of a few train services. Due to the jumbo block, trains will not halt at Ram Mandir station.
The mega block on Central line will be carried out between Mulund and Matunga stations from 11.15 am to 3.15 pm on the up fast line. The trains services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), leaving Kalyan, will be diverted on the slow tracks during the block period. Meanwhile, the fast and semi-fast train services departing from CSMT will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations, in addition to their scheduled halts. The additional halts in the train services is expected to delay arrival by 20 minutes.
The harbour line services will remain cancelled between CSMT and Vashi, Belapur, Panvel from 10.30 am to 3 pm in the light of mega block conducted between Kurla and Vashi. The mega block between Kurla and Vashi will be operational from 11.10 am to 3.10 pm, resulting in cancellation of train services. However, special local trains will run on CSMT-Kurla and Vashi-Panvel sections during the block period.
