Nagpur: In another incident in Nagpur, the hometown of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the robbers broke into the house former Director General of Police, Prabir Kumar Chakravarty in Dharam Peth and made off with gold and silver ornaments, among other valuables.

The Chakravarty’s, however, were not at home and were informed of the theft by the Nagpur police. Family members searched for the lost items in the house, but in vain. Then they lodged a police complaint. Police launched a search but failed to trace the culprits. Involvement of the domestic help, recruited four months ago, could not be ruled out, as the help has been missing since the crime, said police. They added the break-ins have become a routine affair in Nagpur. In fact, thefts in safe neighbourhoods and even houses of those in the vicinity of VVIPs have been burgled.
