The father repeatedly slit the throat of his six-year-old daughter with a shaving razor after she happen to see him in a compromising position with her maternal aunt.
Mumbai : In a gruesome incident, a father killed his six-year-old daughter by slitting her throat with a shaving razor after she happen to see him in a compromising position with her maternal aunt in the absence of maternal uncle, late midnight at their house. He repeatedly slit her throat and bundled her in a saree of her aunt lying beside the bed. Eventually, it’s this saree that unearthed the crime.
The incident happened on September 9 in Nandkheda village in Parbhani district and the police have registered a case on September 14 against the victim’s father identified as Ganesh Panpatte and her maternal aunt, whose name has been withheld.
Nitin Chincholkar, police inspector attached to Parbhani rural police station, said: “The girl was living with her maternal grandparents for her schooling. She was studying in Class 1.”
He said that the girl woke up in the middle of the night to visit the toilet and saw her father in a compromising position with her maternal aunt. This scared her father and aunt, who thought the girl would report the incident to her uncle. The father covered the girl’s mouth with his palm so that she could not shout, caught hold of a shaving blade and allegedly slit the girl’s neck, police said. As the aunt’s saree was lying beside the bed, the father tore it and bundled the body into it, put it into an empty sack and threw it near the farm. Next morning, he went to the police and reported that his daughter was missing.
After two days, the villagers complained of foul smell around their huts. The police found the body in a sack on searching the area. During the investigation, the police found the rest of the torn saree in the victim’s aunt’s home. They took her to the police station and on questioning, she confessed to the crime, police said.
