His meeting with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday has given rise to this speculation
Mumbai : A meeting between MNS leader Pravin Darekar with the Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday had the rumour-mongers buzzing.
Darekar, a trusted aide of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, had already resigned from all party positions after party’s rout in the Assembly elections. His meeting with Uddhav at Matoshree on Saturday has now given rise to speculation that he is on his way to the Shiv Sena.
According to sources close to Darekar, he felt neglected in the MNS and had been upset over the circle of advisors surrounding the MNS chief. While Darekar declined to give insights of the Saturday meeting, he will most likely announce his decision in a press conference in the next few days. Several senior MNS leaders are likely to follow suit.
When asked to comment, Raj Thackeray told the media, “We will not stop anyone who wants to quit the party, as these testing times will identify the party’s real supporters.”
