Conference to be held on globalising universities

Mumbai : A round table conference (RTC) of Vice-Chancellors of state universities has been planned on the subject of ‘Globalisation of Higher Education in the State of Maharashtra: Way Forward’ in the University of Mumbai on Friday. Its aim is to take the universities in the state up to international standards.

This year, the University of Mumbai has been conferred the honour of host the RTC. The programme is scheduled for 9.30 am on Friday at Convocation Hall, University of Mumbai, Fort campus. Governor Ch Vidysagar Rao will preside over the programme.

A few universities in the have state received recognition at the international level, but other universities are still struggling with various issues like the quality of education and authenticity, genuineness, relevance and utility in research work.

The objective of this programme is to make all universities reach international standards and create new benchmarks in the field of education as well as in research. Experts will guide the Vice-Chancellors of universities in the state on various aspects.
