Chain snatcher ends life in lock-up

Mumbai: A chain snatcher identified as Shyam Bhamle, who was in the lock up of Andheri police station, committed suicide in the washroom on Tuesday night. He was rushed to the Cooper hospital at night where he was declared dead on arrival. He had been arrested in a chain snatching case and it is said that he was depressed over it, which might be the reason for him to take this extreme step. The case has now been transferred to the Crime Branch to carry out further investigations.
