The accused had been demanding money for quite some time
Palghar : A Boisar client had to face the fury of a builder on Thursday evening, whom he had appointed to construct his bungalow, for delaying the final payment of Rs 3.5 lakh. The client, identified as Utpadak Chintaman Meher (40) was severely injured. Meher has been admitted to the hospital and is under observation from heavy loss of blood. The accused, Ravi Manu Rathod, has been remanded to police custody. Sources said that Meher suffered major cuts on the wrist and stomach.
Meher had awarded a contract to Rathod for Rs 17 lakh to construct his bungalow and had paid all the dues except for the last installment of Rs 3.5 lakh, which the accused had been demanding for quite some time.
The accused proposed a meeting with the victim on Thursday late evening near the Tata Steel company in Tarapur and soon a quarrel ensued which resulted in a fight and in a fit of rage Rathod caught hold of a chopper from the coconut stall and assaulted Meher.
Two constables, who were passing by, picked up Meher, who lay in a pool of blood and rushed him to a nearby private hospital. Cops later arrested Rathod under section 307 of the IPC and produced him in a local court that remanded him further police custody.
