Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation now plans to spend Rs 1.62 crore to set up a Social Welfare Centre for public use, in an open space of 152.77 square metres at Sewree. A proposal for the welfare centre will be tabled for approval in the forthcoming Standing Committee Meeting.
Construction of this building was to be started, in which the Social Welfare Centre will be on the ground plus two floors. This building will have a hall, independent rooms, ceremony hall and a fire prevention system too will be installed. This social welfare centre will be used by the local residents. The work is expected to be completed within a year.
The work of this Social Welfare Centre will be started once they get an approval in the Standing Committee Meeting. The contract will be given to M/s Taksheel Infrastructures.There is a possibility that the proposal would be withdrawn by the administration due to the election code of conduct.
