BMC gets nod for new medical college

Mumbai: The State government recently gave permission to the BMC for a much awaited medical college in the R M Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle (W). The civic body has received a certificate from the State government for the same. The BMC has now asked Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik to survey Cooper Hospital and MUHS representatives are expected to visit it soon. The corporation will now  present a detailed proposal to the Medical Council  of  India (MCI). Once the BMC gets an approval  from the MCI, it will start running its fourth medical  college  in  the city from the academic year 2015-16.
